Another day in solitary

Sitting in my goldfish bowl,

Do my time without complaining

Set on cruise control;

Stay in lockdown, out of trouble,

Waiting for parole,

Another day in solitary

In my goldfish bowl.

No hunger strike, no dirty protest;

Buddha in a ten-foot cell,

I won’t worry if I drop the

Soap, no one can tell;

Reach transcendence, cleanse my soul with

Sanitiser gel,

No hunger strike, no dirty protest;

Buddha in a cell.

 

And I’ll sew another mail bag

From the pile that I have got                      

Until I’ve proven penitent,  

For God knows what.

Red kites swoop above the yard,

Wish that I could fly away from

Here, it couldn't be so hard,
